Published in: Legalbrief Today
Date: Mon 20 June 2005

Issue No: 1359

Suspended Supreme Court Judge of Appeal Pio Teek (58), accused of raping two young girls in late January, will go on trial in the High Court in Windhoek on October 17.

Teek, reports The Namibian, will, however, have to make one more pre-trial appearance in the High Court on August 24. Teek faces two counts of abduction (alternatively kidnapping), two counts of rape, two charges of committing or attempting to commit an immoral or indecent act with a child under 16, and two counts of ‘use of means to stupefy a female for unlawful carnal intercourse’, or supplying liquor to a person under the age of 18.
