Uganda censors radiokatwe operations
Published in: eLaw & Management

Issue No: 1120

Radiokatwe.com, the Web site that published anti-government gossip, has been censored by the State in what could be the beginning of a crackdown on online content.

The Monitor reports that the site, which had since early January published racy stories and conspiracy theories, many of them about the alleged inner workings of the State and top Movement leaders, was disabled last week. Sources said mobile phone giants MTN and Uganda Telecom had been asked by the government to block the site.
