Experts are in Nigeria to begin a review of governance in Nigeria aimed at ensuring compliance with fundamental ideals spelt out by African leaders.
The 30-member team is linked to the New Partnership for African Development (Nepad), an ambitious blueprint to ensure good governance in the countries of the continent, according to
The Times. The review is essentially concentrating on democracy and political governance, economic governance and management, corporate governance and socio-economic development. The team led by Kenyan diplomat Bethuel Kiplagart is to visit 16 centres across Nigeria with a view to validating the country’s own self-assessment report and national programme of action.
