Rwandan genocide accused arrested in the DRC

A government spokesperson says a Rwandan fugitive accused of genocide and crimes against humanity has been arrested in a joint Rwandan-DRC military operation.

According to a report on the News24 site, Lambert Mende says Gregoire Ndahimana was arrested in a village in North Kivu province. Ndahimana now faces charges before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, which was set up to try suspects of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The report notes that Ndahimana was among nearly a dozen suspects accused of crimes who were on the run.
