PROFESSOR IN COMMERCIAL LAW
The Wits School of Law is committed to excellence in teaching and research. The School invites applications for one professorship at the level of either full, associate or adjunct professor in commercial law, especially company law.
The Law School seeks a dynamic lecturer and active researcher who is dedicated to increasing its intellectual profile. The position offers substantial opportunities to engage in research and postgraduate teaching.
Requirements for the position:
At the level of Professor, the candidate must have a Masters degree in law and preferably a doctorate in law; an international reputation in his or her field, or at least a high national reputation; a significant publications output; and a proven track record of effective teaching (which includes postgraduate supervision).
At the level of Associate Professor, the candidate must have a Masters degree in law and preferably a doctorate in law; a substantial body of published research; and a proven track record of effective teaching (which includes postgraduate supervision).
At the level of Adjunct Professor, the candidate must have a Masters degree in law and preferably a doctorate in law; a reputation for excellence in his or her profession; and a record of effective teaching (which includes postgraduate supervision). For the position of Adjunct Professor, a body of published research is desirable but not essential.
